Flipscale Cell-Phone Styled Pocket Scale | ||
The Flipscale definitely gets the award for the most innovative design we’ve ever seen. The scale looks like a “Flip-Phone”. It comes complete with a very nice leather carrying pouch with belt clip and tool holder, platform expansion tray, tweezers, calibration weight and a 5-year warranty. The model we tested is an upgraded version from the original Flipscale. My Weigh tells us the one we tested has added features compared to the original Flipscale. These features are: Snap-Lock for lid to keep the scale closed when not in use, Platform expansion tray, improved calibration weight, improved accuracy, Improved hinge, and Carats readability. We really love this mini scale. It’s one of the
smallest scales we’ve ever tested, even smaller then the Micro-Tech. The
features of this tiny scale amazed us. The programming and functions are
quite advanced, calibration is a snap using just one button, and the tray
size is HUGE because the LCD is on the top part of the scale. This leaves
plenty of room for the tray on the bottom half of the scale. We noticed the
5-Digit
LCD is by far the largest LCD we have ever seen on a pocket scale. It’s
larger then the LCD of most scales 10 times its size! Our test results
showed perfect accuracy with no detectable drift. The Flipscale reads to
0.05 grams, which makes it twice as precise as it’s competition. Genuine
Panasonic Lithium batteries are an added plus as well as a genuine Thermistor to control temperature fluctuations.
Recommendations:
Although this scale is extremely durable, we recommend storing it in it’s
leather carrying pouch when not in use. This will help prevent shock or
injury to the scale if you drop it. Another STRONG recommendation is to
NOT LET YOUR FRIENDS SEE THIS SCALE. If they do, they’ll want it and soon
you’ll find your scale “MIA”. Wow, what a great scale – our whole review
team is still in awe of this tiny scale!
